הסעודה - ביוזמת רב היישוב בית חורון, הרב מיכה פלד -- תתקיים ביום א' הקרוב 2.9.07 , בגינת ביתו של הרב פלד, בית חורון (היישוב ממוקם בכביש 443 בין מודיעין לגבעת זאב).

שימו לב: רב היישוב, הרב פלד, מתכוון לבקש תשלום (35 ש"ח - פחות ממחיר עלות) רק מתושבי בית חורון ולא מאורחים מבחוץ, כי מה שמעניין אותו זה רק דבר אחד, שיבואו הרבה אנשים ויכבדו את החיילים הגיבורים. עם זאת -- לדעת תנועת "מטות ערים" ומבלי להתיעץ עם הרב פלד, נראה שמי שיכול להרשות לעצמו, לא יזיק שיביא עימו 35 ש"ח או אפילו 50 ש"ח למי שיכול.

You are cordially invited to a festive (albeit modest) dinner in honor of the brave soldiers who refused to turn the 14 children from Hebron out of their homes in the Hebron Pogrom a few weeks ago. This lovely event is the brainchild of the gentle and dedicated Rabbi of Bet Horon, Rabbi Michah Peled. Rabbi Dov Lior of Kiryat Arba, a well-known rabbinical scholar, and Prof. Ezra Zohar will speak. In a modest ceremony, the soldiers will receive a "Hero of Israel" alternative award.
The dinner is THIS Sunday, 2 September, at 8 PM, in Rabbi Peled's garden in Bet Horon (on Road 443, between Modiin and Givat Zeev). Rabbi Peled asks that you call him URGENTLY -- (HOW ABOUT RIGHT THIS MINUTE?) to register 050.382.7660 or 02-5363273 to enable the right number of place-settings to be ordered. Rabbi Peled says that the Bet Horon activists will be paying 35 NIS per person (even this is of course less than the cost of the meal). He does not want to charge guests from outside Bet Horon because he is extremely anxious not to discourage anyone from attending: he wants to have as many people as possible so as to honor and encourage our brave boys as much as possible. However, we do not want to take advantage of our brothers and sisters in Bet Horon, so common sense dictates that anyone who can pay his costs (35 NIS or even 50 NIS if you can afford it) should do so. CALL RABBI PELED TODAY -- ENJOY A LOVELY EVENING -- YOU DESERVE IT, AND OUR BOYS DESERVE TO HAVE YOU!

National Council of Young Israel calls on everyone to call the White House daily for Jonathan Pollard for the next few weeks during the period leading up to the Jewish High Holy Days. Ad will appear in approximately 20 American national, regional and community Jewish papers, this coming weekend (Aug 31st). Flyers have been sent to Jewish Day Schools, rabbis, and community leaders.
Jews are commanded to do all that is in our power to redeem a captive. Call the White House right now - (202-456-1414). Let's flood the White House with phone calls during this critical time.
