"גם אנחנו "אשמים" ברצון להגן על חיינו ועל מולדתנו! ביום חמישי, ה' בניסן, 10.4.08 בשעה 09:30 בבוקר - מועד כניסתם לכלא של דני ואיציק חלמיש מגוש עציון - נתייצב כולנו מול תחנת המשטרה במגרש הרוסים בירושלים ונמנע את העוול. האחים חלמיש ממעלה רחבעם פעלו ככיתת כוננות נגד תוקפים ערבים. הם הולכים למאסר למרות שלא ביצעו כל עבירה."
מטעם: נשים בירוק - בית מעלה רחבעם - ועד רבני יש"ע - חוננו - ארגוני הנוער -- וגופים רבים נוספים.

נשיא המדינה (פרס) יכול להעניק חנינה לאחים חלמיש, בדיוק כפי שעשה זאת לרוצחי הילד דני כץ (ערבים, שחלק מהם רצחו גם חיילת) בלי לתת הסברים אפילו.

* כולם יודעים באיזה צד של המפה הפוליטית שמעון פרס נמצא, אבל בכל זאת - מסיבות שונות -- חשוב מאד מאד לפנות אליו!
* מומלץ לומר את הדברים הבאים: האחים חלמיש הם חברי כיתת כוננות, שחשו לגבעה שמשקיפה ("שולטת") על היישוב שלהם כדי להתמודד עם התקהלות של ערבים שם. זאת עשו לא סתם כך אלא כי הוזעקו למקום ע"י אחראי הבטחון של היישוב. אחראי הבטחון, שהיה הדמות העיקרית בפרשה, קיבל חנינה ולא הושלך לכלא, ולא הגיוני שדווקא האחים חלמיש שהם הדמויות המשניות, ילכו לכלא. הטיעון הנ"ל מומלץ, כי הוא לא רק טיעון נכון - הוא גם מתאים מאד לאנשי שמאל, משפטנים ועיתונאים
* אפשר גם להוסיף שבמסמכי המשפט נאמר במפורש שהאחים --לכל היותר -- ירו באוויר, ואחראי הבטחון - לכל היותר -- ירה בקרקע. לכן לא ברור לכם איך בכלל קרה שהם הורשעו במשהו.

Itzik and Danny Halamish are supposed to go to jail for eight months. We cannot let this travesty go by without making a big fuss about it. Although the Halamish brothers acted (only by shooting in the air!!) in their official capacity as Gush Etzion security officers against Arabs who congregated opposite a small yishuv, they have been sentenced to a prison term for doing their job. And they are not the only ones -- there are other security officers, soldiers and army officers with similar stories. Only public pressure can stop this. Same morning (Thu), in Beer-Sheva: important police brutality trial
"The choker" will be on trial in Beer-Sheva's Shalom Court, also this Thursday 10 April. 10:30 AM, Kiryat Memshala, Shalom Court, courtroom of Judge Yael Raz-Levi. This is a policeman who was in the habit of choking demonstrators until he happened to get caught on film choking the 18 year old son of a well-known Gush Katif deportee: Itzik Cohen, a well known pepper farmer. Your presence is very important; do not assume that justice will be done unless a few people are present in the courtroom, preferably studiously taking notes. Feel free to speak or write in English. Express your concern that Israel is abandoning those who defend it. Since when is it unreasonable for security officers to shoot in the air (which is all the brothers Halamish did) if they find themselves surrounded by Arabs at a location adjacent the yishuv that they are responsible for protecting? This is particularly the case since so many polls show that a huge majority of Palestinians (84% by the most recent poll: http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/125639 ) support terrorism.
IMPORTANT: Remember that President Peres had no problem in pardoning the double-convicted Arab murderers of Danny Katz --
an innocent Jewish youngster from Haifa!!!

US Citizens: Pidion Shvuim Alert No. 6: Intensifying the Campaign for the Halamish Brothers
President Shimon Peres's office has called the Halamish brothers and said their request for a pardon is being considered. But alas, these are only words. Without any action, Danny and Yitzhak
will be going to jail on April 10 for up to eight months.
Please redouble your efforts. Call the Israel embassy [telephone 202-364-5500] and ask to speak to the military attache. Express your outrage that the Israel Army abandoned its fighters for protecting Jews. Don't argue. The military attache's office knows exactly what you're talking about. Stress that you are an American citizen whose support for the Israeli
military is based on its protection of Jews. Say that you also plan to
discuss this case with your member of Congress who decides on U.S. military aid to Israel. The Olmert government, with an approval rating of near zero, has refused any accountability to the Israeli people and fears only the Bush administration. Unless we act now, there will be many more young Jews in jail. The Jewish holiday of Passover is about redemption. Let's work to redeem our fellow Jews.

The Cameri theater is airing a play ("Back to Haifa") about a terrorist's very understandable (to the Cameri...) desire to "liberate" Haifa. It is based on the book of a Hazit Amamit terrorist called Assan Kanfani. Join Tel-Aviv Accountant Haim Yoavi Rabinovitch, the organizer, and dress up as he will be doing in a kaffia and toy gun so you can properly thank the Cameri for their PR services on behalf of the Palestinian terror movement. 2 Mondays' in a row -- 14 April 8 PM (Paamonim 9 in Jaffa) and 21 April 7:30 PM (at Cameri theater). If we are lucky, these trials will help to expose where these cops got the idea of roughing up the kids from (straight from the powers that be, of course!). Please -- come and sit in the courtroom, since in such a sensitive trial, justice will ONLY be done if several spectators are present, preferably studiously taking notes (remember that not everything gets put into the protocol. Sometimes important details are omitted -- by mistake.).
